NATIONAL EDUCATION  FOR HONG KONG

- “I don’t think I am ready now!”

As an educator, regarding Chinese patriotism classes for Hong Kong, I understand it is important to foster a sense of national pride & belonging, but there also should be transparent information of nation’s history.

Moreover my concern is about the students who come from different countries & communities who are still confused with their identity.

And maybe because I myself belonging from one of the minorities in this community, I fear of me being forced to do something which I cannot accept with such enforcement.

Cells Cells - Parts of the Cell Rap

Learning parts of the cell through song.

One of the best ways to learn & teach.

I saw my kids nodding their head, moving their lips and shaking their feet according to the beat.

Glad they are learning without boredom. And I am learning a new way to make them learn without boredom ;)

Student Election @ CMACCK :)

carlosesoto:

Earlier I posted about the elections unit I began my students in Forms 1 and 2. We began by watching “Please Vote for Me”, a documentary about a class monitor election in China. We are holding our own elections now in two classes. We studied posters from around the world, then made our own posters for our candidates using the website ipiccy.com

My students need to study what kind of leaders they want for their communities, and what kind of leaders they want to be, so this unit is more than just a civics lesson; it about ideas that are critical if they to build stronger communities.
